Berkley Continues Partnership with the Association of Collegiate Anglers for the 2024 Season

San Antonio, TX (March 20, 2024) – The Association of Collegiate Anglers announces a renewed partnership for the 18th year in a row with Berkley for the 2024 season of the Collegiate Bass Fishing Series.  Berkley has also long been the presenting sponsor of the Bass Pro Shops Big Bass Bash presented by Berkley, and this will continue with its support of the 2024 event set to take place on Kentucky Lake later this year in September.

“Collegiate bass fishing continues to grow and has become an exciting way for young anglers to continue their love of fishing while pursuing an education,” said Berkley Chief Brand and Product Officer, Jon Schlosser. “We are thrilled to be able to continue our partnership with the Association of Collegiate Anglers and support these anglers with innovative baits from the team at Berkley Labs.  Our leadership in developing new baits for FFS, which is so prevalent at the collegiate level, helps these anglers catch more fish.”

The Bass Pro Shops Big Bass Bash presented by Berkley has long been one of the most anticipated events of the season out on the Collegiate Bass Fishing Series.  The 2023 installment of this nationally televised, no-entry-fee tournament boasted the largest field in the history of the event. Close to 600 anglers traveled to Henry County and Paris, TN to compete for over $20,000 in prizes and contingencies, as well as double points to count towards the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia.

The 2024 installment of this event will take place September 21-22 at Kentucky Lake.

First introduced at the 2019 event, anglers are permitted to use only Berkley baits on day two of competition.  This added twist has been a great success! Anglers have shown great confidence in the complete line of Berkley products, catching Kentucky Lake bass on everything from topwaters, to soft plastics, and even crankbaits.

“The Bass Pro Shops Big Bass Bash presented by Berkley is always a great way for the ACA to kick off a new season,” said Wade Middleton, Director of the Association of Collegiate Anglers and CarecoTV President.  “The 2023 edition had the largest field in the history of the event, and we look forward to another great turnout in 2024.”

About the Association of Collegiate Anglers

The Association of Collegiate Anglers (ACA) is a division of CarecoTV that was created to facilitate growth, development, and structure within competitive collegiate bass fishing, with emphasis on competitive fishing events nationwide. The ACA created the original BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Series 19 seasons ago. That single event has evolved into the Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series, which is now recognized as the longest-running consecutive collegiate bass fishing series in existence.

The ACA lineup of major college fishing events includes a variety of tournaments nationwide that are multi-day tournaments, all of which are televised on several networks, as well as streamed on a variety of connected platforms.  The ACA also provides support to numerous schools operating regional events nationwide which is an effort to provide more opportunities to grow the exposure and awareness of college fishing.

The ACA owns the Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series, Bass Pro Shops School of Year presented by Abu Garcia program, and associated assets which is widely regarded as the most comprehensive and prestigious collegiate bass fishing title today.

Thanks in part to the large diversity of media exposure the ACA provides, the series boasts the largest amount of televised and streaming coverage of any collegiate fishing series. This includes a dedicated television series on numerous television networks and streaming platforms, as well as additional coverage of select events inside other programs.

This combination includes coverage from Discovery Channel, CBS Sports, Bally Sports, Pursuit Channel, as well as other regional and national networks. You can also find coverage online at any time of past events thanks to coverage on OutdoorActionTV.com and PursuitUp.com
