Wednesday, June 10 – 5:05 AM
Here is a look at the weather conditions for the day. Portions of the lake may see a little bit of rain early on this morning, but it should clear out of here by lunch time. One item of note to keep an eye on is the wind today. There has been a pretty strong breeze for the last few days, and it continues to gust this morning. Projections show the wind to blow an average of 15 mph or so for most of the day. Typically wind would be good out here, but it is going against the flow of current out on the river. That will likely cause for a bumpy boat ride heading out this morning. Otherwise, we will see what effect it has, if any, on the fishing!
Wednesday, June 10 – 4:45 AM
Good morning, and welcome into Live Blog coverage for Day 1 of the 2020 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops! Hundreds of the top collegiate anglers are filing through McFarland Park and preparing to launch out onto Pickwick Lake at the moment. Boat number one will take off at 5:30 AM with the remainder of the field following shortly thereafter.
Camera crews will begin the morning covering the Top 3 in the current rankings for Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia. Those teams include: McKendree University, University of Montevallo, and Adrian College. As we receive updates from off the water by those teams, we will promptly share them to the blog and social media.
Thanks for tuning in! We look forward to getting the event started and seeing how the anglers fare out there!
