  3. Sloan Pennington – Hunter Mccarty (University of North Alabama) 23.31lbs
  4. Wyatt Young – Tucker Sargent (Tarleton State Univ.) 20.84lbs
  5. Mitchell Jennings – Cole Burdeshaw (Auburn Univ) 19.60lbs

CHAMP_DAY 1 RESULTS

With time winding down in the day will someone find late afternoon magic here on Pickwick?  We’ve seen incredible action from all parts of the lake  today so it’s going to be quite the interesting weigh in here in Florence, Alabama on day one.  If you’re in the area come on down and see the top college teams in the nation and if you’re not close by we’ll bring it all to you live here on the website as well as on our facebook page.

Teams are still out searching the ledges for that big kicker.  The winds and current are really working against each other right now to create some bumpy conditions.  We’re hearing a mix of fishing reports with some schools really firing and others slowing down.  Those anglers in the first flight will probably already have begun the long run back to takeoff based on the conditions.

Cody Peak and Jeff Roman Clayton IV from Mississippi State with their third keeper.   This is the type of quality fish teams are targeting.

 

We may have spoke a little to soon that the bite was slowing down! Here is Tyler Ellis and Hayden Lee from Missouri State University with a great cull to upgrade to around 17 pounds.   They are part of the Cabela’s collegiate program and hoping for a high finish so they can walk away with some awesome prizes.

Daniel Paulin from Georgia College with a monster Pickwick Lake bass. Rumor from the water is this bass may go 8-9 pounds, going to make weigh-in very exciting!!!   This is the type of a bass that will content for Power Pole Big Bass Award and may even win it.
