Hartwell Slam to Kick-Off 2024 Season on the Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series
SAN ANTONIO, TX (March 25, 2024) – The Association of Collegiate Anglers is set to begin the 2024 season on the Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series. To be contested at Lake Hartwell in Anderson, SC, the Hartwell Slam will take place on April 13-14, 2024. This no-entry-fee event also includes media coverage on a variety of streaming platforms, live coverage, social media promotions and is nationally televised on several networks. The event will pay out over $20,000 in prizes and contingencies, as well as double points to count towards the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia.
Registration for the Hartwell Slam will close on Sunday, April 7 at 7:00 PM (ET). There is no field size limit, or restrictions to the number of teams a given school can send. To register for the event, click here.
The Hartwell Slam is the first event of 2024 on the Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series, and the final ACA double points event of the 2023-24 season before the year-end Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops on Pickwick Lake in May. This is the final regular season major event for teams to earn qualification into college fishing’s longest-running National Championship tournament. At the Hartwell Slam, the Top 15 finishing teams in the final tournament standings will earn automatic qualification into the Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops. Along with the qualification opportunities up for grabs, teams will also be competing for valuable double points to count towards the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia. The Hartwell Slam is the final ACA double points event of this season before the year-end triple points Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops. At Lake Hartwell, teams will be eligible to earn points for their two highest-finishing teams inside of the Top 150 of the final tournament standings. All season long, the race for Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia has been extremely competitive. Teams at the top of the standings have been separated by only a few thousand points at the most, and many other schools are knocking on the door of cracking the Top 25. The Hartwell Slam will be a key event in defining the race to finish the year ranked number one in college fishing’s only all-encompassing National Rankings system.
Total payout for the no-entry-fee Hartwell Slam will exceed over $20,000 in prizes and contingencies. The Top 20 finishing teams will receive a valuable prize payout, along with the Overall Big Bass of the tournament earning a new Power-Pole.
