Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series Joins AFTCO’s Conservation Efforts with AFTCO Bank Bags during Championship Week
AFTCO a long-time leader in conservation in the saltwater world is bringing their conservation ethics to the freshwater market in 2018 with a variety of new initiatives including their Bank Bag program. This program will be in full effect during the 2018 collegiate bass fishing championship. During that week AFTCO supplies a Bank Bag to each team to use to pick up trash from around the lake during their practice period and competition days.
This year, the Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series will join in on the efforts and promote the AFTCO Bank Bags to anglers fishing the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship next week being held on Pickwick and Wilson Lake. Anglers that return the Bank Bag full of trash will be eligible to receive a $25 gift card for AFTCO clothing.
“It is our 60th anniversary in 2018 and our first year in the freshwater market. AFTCO has long been a leader in the fishing conservation and we are excited to bring new initiatives to the freshwater market. 10% of our company profits go to conservation every year and we have moved that into freshwater this year with new programs like our Bank Bags. It is an exciting time for AFTCO and we look forward to working with the top college anglers this week,” said Casey Shedd, Vice-President at AFTCO.
“This is such an awesome way to both help take care of great resources like Pickwick and Wilson lakes but also show how AFTCO and College anglers care about the resources. As part of this program we’re going to even add more on top of what AFTCO is doing by providing a $25.00 Cabela’s Gift card that can be used at either Bass Pro Shops or Cabela’s for some of the college anglers,” said Wade Middleton, Director of the ACA and President of CarecoTV.
College anglers can pick up and drop-off their Bank Bags at the weigh-in site located at McFarland Park throughout the week with staff members. As a special incentive, the that find the ACA Director, Wade Middleton, during Championship Week and asks for an AFTCO Bank Bag will also get an additional $25.00 Cabela’s Gift Card upon returning it full.
