Abu Garcia and Association of Collegiate Anglers Renew Partnership for 2023 Season
SAN ANTONIO, TX (February 27 , 2023) – Abu Garcia and the Association of Collegiate Anglers announce the renewal of their partnership to support college fishing as part of the 2023 Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series. The continued support will consist of Abu Garcia’s presenting sponsorship of the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year program presented by Abu Garcia, as well as continued support for college anglers through a variety of programs and initiatives, including at the 2023 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops.

This past season at the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops, Abu Garcia introduced a trade-in and trade up program for anglers to participate in. Anglers competing in the year-end Championship were able to bring a used fishing rod to trade in for a new Abu Garcia Veritas casting rod. Abu Garcia then donated the used fishing rods to the Alabama DNR for them to use to teach young anglers how to fish. Abu Garica is excited to introduce their new lineup of Revo spinning and low-profile casting reels with a special promotion to collegiate athletes at the event at Lake Hartwell this upcoming May.

The Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia is a 12-month long chase to end the year ranked as the number one team in all of collegiate bass fishing. ACA staff maintain the comprehensive ranking system on a week-to-week basis, updating the rankings as events are contested throughout the year. As part of this race, hundreds of teams from California to Michigan, all the way down to Florida, compete in as many events as possible to earn valuable points. With the addition of triple points to be awarded at the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops, the 2022-23 race is setting up to be one of the most competitive in recent years!
