ACA To Host Second Online Tournament During Holiday Break
Anglers will be competing for thousands of dollars in prizes, and the Top 10 at the close of competition will earn valuable points towards the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia
SAN ANTONIO, TX (December 9, 2020) – During the spring of this year, the Association of Collegiate Anglers hosted its first-ever Online Tournament designed specifically for college anglers. The event was a major hit, with anglers from all across the country submitting legal fish catches and vying for valuable prizes from the top brands in the industry. With the fall semester coming to an end and students having a month-long break from the classroom, the ACA wants to present an opportunity for everyone to get outdoors and engage in some friendly competition with their peers.
TOURNAMENT DETAILS
ACA Holiday Break Online Tournament
Start Date: December 11th, 2020 at Sunrise
End Date: January 10th, 2020 at 6:00pm CST
On Thursday, December 10th, after 5:00 pm CST, ACA staff will provide a keyword that all anglers will be required to write on a piece of paper to show in each fish picture they submit. Anglers will be required to have that word in the photo for the catch to be eligible.
For the ‘Bass Only’ portion of the tournament, this is restricted to Largemouth, Smallmouth and Spotted Bass, anglers are looking to catch the longest fish possible.
All fish must be measured with mouth closed and nose pressed against a measuring board with the tail flat on the board (not pinched). Photos that do not show that will be deemed ineligible. Anglers can fish any form of water, including public lakes, creeks, private ponds, and anywhere bass can be caught. ***You do not have to fish out of a boat to qualify***
If a collegiate angler submits multiple fish, their longest fish will be the one that counts.
There will also be an alternate division, ‘All Other Fish Species,’ dedicated to any and all non-bass fish species. Anglers can submit pictures of any non-bass with the keyword visible to be entered into this category. Five winners will be drawn at random from the submission names. You are not required to measure the non-bass species for this division, as winners will be determined through a blind drawing.
All fish catch pictures must be submitted via the ACA website using the ACA Online Submission Form.
Participating anglers must also be current college students. View complete rules here.
