BUFF® Introduces the School of the Year specialty Multifunctional Headwear
The Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia is the most hotly contested race in all of college fishing. Thousands of anglers representing hundreds of schools across the country compete all year for the opportunity to be crowned the School of the Year. Winning this title comes with plenty of perks ranging from gift cards, to product, and even new jerseys. Beginning at the 2019 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops, another twist will be added to this program. BUFF® is introducing a specialty product similar to the “yellow jersey” from the Tour de France cycling race.
In the Tour de France, each day of the prestigious bike race, the leader of the event at that given time wears a designated yellow jersey while they are competing. And for as long as they are leading, the competitor will continue to dawn said jersey. The same principle will be in place for the Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series. At each event, the school that is leading the School of the Year race at that time will be given an exclusive yellow BUFF® Original multifunctional to be worn during the event.
“We’re super excited to unveil this new program, this badge of honor, for leading School of the Year teams,” said Casey Rolig, Media Marketing Manager at Buff, Inc. The limited issue headwear will be a yellow color pattern sporting the School of the Year logo. With such a cool design, it will be easy to pick out who the leading team is and should provide them with added confidence as well as pressure. “I hope the ‘yellow jersey’ provides them just a sense of pride among their peers, and a keepsake for years to come,” added Rolig.
An idea that spawned at iCast 2018, the Yellow Jersey will make its first appearance at the Championship event coming up in May. To view the current standings in the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia, click here.
