We are waiting for the final 50 minutes of Session 4 to play out.  There seems to be two groups of anglers out there: those who are on groups of fish, and those that can’t buy a bite.  Tristan McCormick (pictured on the right), from Bethel University, has placed in the top 10 in each of the last two sessions.  Several other anglers have also placed in multiple sessions today.  The bite has picked up so it seems for a portion of the field.

We have now entered the final session of the whole tournament.  Day 2 Session 4 is sponsored by Berkley.  Fishing appears to be just a little better out there today.  We’ve seen the biggest fish of the tournament come in today, and that bass was caught using a Berkley bait!

Taylor Owens from Blue Mountain College just took the lead in Session 3 with 4.79 lbs.  She caught this fish on the Berkley J-Walker, a topwater walking style bait.

Soft plastics are becoming more prevalent as the day progresses.  Berkley PowerBait MaxScent is the weapon of choice for Joe Bardill from Murray State University.

The clock has moved into the 11 0’clock hour and we are now entering Session 3 presented by Bass Pro Shops and Abu Garcia.  Whoever wins this session will receive a $1,000 Bass Pro Shops gift card and an Abu Garcia Revo STX Spinning Reel.

Hunter Schneider from Adrian College wins Session 2 with 5.16 lbs.

Today is a beautiful day to be outside. The wind has laid down compared to yesterday, and there is not a cloud in the sky.  Days like this are great to be outdoors, but it’s not always the best for fishing.  However, we are still seeing plenty of fish come through weigh-in.  Just 25 minutes remain in Session2 as a 5.16 lb. largemouth leads.

Hunter Schneider from Adrian College just took the overall lead of the event with 5.16 lbs.  This fish ate a Berkley Power Swimmer for the young angler.  That is the first fish over the five pound mark to be weighed in during this event.

Berkley baits are getting the job done on Day 2 as we saw an increase from Day 1 Session 1 to today’s first session with more fish crossing the stage so far today.  A combination of topwaters and worms were mentioned at weigh-in.  These anglers from Bryan College are working a Berkley crankbait in search of a big bite.

The Berkley Choppo has been the most mentioned bait this morning so far.  Topwater has been a player early on in the morning on both days.  Look for the Choppo to bring in several fish throughout weigh-in today!

Day 2 Session 1 is presented by Abu Garcia.  The top 10 from Session 1 will be going home with loads of Abu Garcia items.  Every place, from 1-10, will get at least one Abu Garcia Revo X Spinning Reel.

The name of the game today is Berkley baits.  Anglers are permitted to use only Berkley products to catch fish here on Day 2.  Jacob Welch from Drury University is geared up and ready to go on this final day.  Welch won Day 1 Session 4 with a smallmouth weighing 4.17 lbs.

And they’re off!  Boats are filing out of the marina and onto Kentucky Lake to start the final day.  Now we wait in anticipation for the first fish to be caught and weighed in!

Good morning from Day 2 here at Kentucky Lake from the Bass Pro Shops Big Bass Bash presented by Berkley!  Teams are launching their boats now as we prepare for the 7:00 AM takeoff.  All of today’s fish that cross the stage will be caught on some variety of Berkley bait.  As the morning progresses, we will share further information and pictures about those specific baits.
