Not sure how many boats your University can send to the Championship event? Listed below is the criteria for entry into the 2016 Championship!
- Each university is guaranteed entry for one two-person team up to the cutoff date of Monday, May 16 at 5:00pm and no team will earn more than three total entries.
- Schools that have fished one of the two Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series events prior to the 2016 BoatUS Championship event will be allotted two boats.
- Schools that have fished both of the Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series events prior to the 2016 BoatUS Championship event will be allotted three boats.
As a reminder, Tournament Waters will be off-limits for two weeks prior to the first official practice day; which will be Sunday, May 22, 2016, the week of the tournament. The tournament lake goes off-limits at 12:00 am Sunday, May 8, 2016. The last legal day for fishing will be Saturday, May 7, 2016, no later than 11:59 pm. Official Practice starts on Sunday, May 22nd and will continue through Wednesday, May 25th.
Anglers will also be allowed to fish Wilson Lake this year by locking through the Wilson Dam. Note: Barges take full priority, so it is the anglers’ responsibility to be back when their flight is due in at McFarland Park each day of competition. As part of Tournament Waters, Wilson Lake will be off limits during the same times as listed above.
The first official gathering of collegiate anglers starts with the Yamaha Angler Appreciation Night at 4:00pm on Tuesday, May 24th, right after practice. Anglers must be off the water by 3:30pm on this day.
After the last day of practice on Wednesday, May 25th, anglers must be off the water by 2:30pm which is also when tournament check-in begins. Anglers will meet at the Shoals Marriott Conference Center to check-in, mingle with sponsors, eat dinner, and attend the mandatory rules meeting. The first tournament day will begin on Thursday, May 26th at 6:30am.
