Teams Positioning as SOY Season nears Half-Way Mark
Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia
San Antonio, TX (November 8, 2019) – In the college football universe, the Top 25 rankings are king. Right now, football season is three-fourths of the way over and teams are positioning themselves for the post-season by trying to move as high up in the rankings as possible. For college fishing, the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia is the greatest measuring stick for a team to know just exactly where they stand among the nation’s elite. With just one moth remaining in the fall semester, the 2019-2020 season is almost halfway complete, and teams can begin making plans for their title run in the spring.
Here is a look at the teams that made a move up inside the Top 25 after this most recent update:
21) University of North Alabama (Prev. 40)
14) Clemson (Prev. 17)
11) Carson-Newman University (Prev. 13)
9) Bryan College (Prev. 11)
8) Blue Mountain College (Prev. 10)
6) Bethel University (Prev. 7)
Two events were added to the most recent update, a regional event on Lake Hartwell for the FLW, and the Battle of the Bluegrass hosted by Campbellsville University. Campbellsville earned 50 points for hosting this school-run event.
The Top 5 in the standings did not change since the prior update. Adrian College, McKendree University, and Murray State did not earn a single point over the past week. The University of Montevallo did get out and compete and applied a little pressure to those schools in the Top 3. A Top 10 finish at Lake Hartwell netted them a total of 735 points. The gap between Montevallo and third place Murray State is right around 600 points.

One of the biggest movers of the week is the University of North Alabama. With a second place finish at the AFTCO Open and a Top 10 at the FLW regional, the former School of the Year Champions have boosted their points total by over 1,500 points. Both Blue Mountain College and Carson Newman University have surged in the standings in the past month as well.
